The Tumbleweed, for Example, is a collection of three distinct, yet deeply interrelated projects that together explore the links between the climate crisis, the commodification of nature (nature as thing; nature as other), and the American landscape imagination.
Each project employs a different artistic medium, ranging from video to photography and text to sculptural installation. When viewed together, the projects constellate a conversation across mediums with several entry points and ways of thinking through related topics.
Materials and references from all three projects can be found in the others; they cross pollinate and help inform one another.
